UNAIR NEWS 鈥 As part of the 71st anniversary celebrations of 东京热 (UNAIR), the university鈥檚 Student Executive Board (BEM) held a 鈥淩ector Meets Students鈥 forum on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Management Office, Campus C MERR. Rector Prof. Dr. Muhammad Madyan, SE, MSi, MFin attended the event along with members of the university leadership.
Students raise key concerns
During the session, students presented a range of issues collected through an internal feedback process. Among the main concerns were unstable campus Wi-Fi, limited parking capacity, the need to improve the UNAIR Bike system, and insufficient time gaps between classes for first-year students attending courses across multiple campuses.
Additional concerns included the arrangement of ride-hailing drop-off points at Campus B, parking fees at the Campus B PLK area, and the limited availability of coworking spaces at Campus A. These issues reflect students鈥 concern for improving comfort and efficiency within the campus environment.
鈥淪tudents at Campus A are currently not allowed to bring cars due to limited parking space. One car can take up the space of four to five motorcycles, so we prioritize two-wheeled vehicles. Meanwhile, parking fees at Campus B are implemented to manage car usage,鈥 Prof. Madyan explained.
Concrete solutions and commitment to facility improvements
In response to Wi-Fi issues, Prof. Madyan instructed the Director of Information Systems to resolve the issue promptly. If budget constraints arise, the university will coordinate with the Vice Rector for Resources to allocate additional funding.
Regarding the UNAIR Bike program, the university plans to reduce the rental fee to Rp500, repair damaged units, and expand the fleet to better support student mobility. However, he also emphasized the importance of responsible use. 鈥淚鈥檝e seen students using one UNAIR Bike for three people. If we want lower fees, we must also take care of the facilities together,鈥 Prof. Madyan noted.
On the issue of coworking space at Campus A, Prof. Madyan explained that the university is currently constructing a 16-story Health Science Tower, one floor of which will serve as a library and academic support space.
He also emphasized that over the past decade, none of the building projects at UNAIR have relied on the national state budget (APBN). Instead, all developments have been funded through the university鈥檚 internal resources, including the recent purchase of land worth Rp49 billion in Jakarta for a postgraduate campus that will soon become operational.
In closing, Prof. Madyan expressed appreciation to the Student Executive Board for organizing the forum. 鈥淚 truly appreciate this initiative because it allows us to engage in dialogue and find solutions together. We share the same goal to develop UNAIR into a university that is recognized at both the national and international levels,鈥 he concluded.
