UNAIR NEWS 鈥聽Green Nursing Corps (GEN Corps) Faculty聽of Nursing UNAIR聽held an ECOENZYME agenda: 鈥淓coenzyme to create environmentally friendly products鈥.听The event took place at the RK Orem Building, FKp Campus MERR C, on Wednesday, August 10, 2023.听The event was held in two stages, a debriefing seminar and a demonstration of making ecoenzyme.
“This is a seminar and demonstration of making聽ecoenzyme.听Ecoenzyme聽is a product of organic waste聽fermentation, such as fruit and vegetable waste during the three months of the聽fermentation聽process,” said Ariel Kafila Soffa, General Chairman of GEN Corps.
GEN Corps collaborated with聽East Java聽Ecoenzyme Nusantara.听It also invited Luh Nyoman Nurniti SKep Ns MSM and Pudji Astuti SKep Ns as the main mentors in the聽Ecoenzyme debriefing.
Follow-up efforts for Ecoenzyme activities聽
Ariel explained that organic waste can produce聽methane聽gas which causes global warming, so the program is expected to become a big agenda to reduce and utilize organic waste.听Moreover, it can be useful in everyday life.
“The follow-up to this event is to produce Ecoenzyme聽products that are environmentally friendly,” she said
Ariel further mentioned several products that could develop, including bath soap, air freshener spray, external medicine for wound care, and other household products. She also said that all participants are expected to be able to set an example in efforts to manage and minimize waste problems.
“Thus, small activities from the community can have an impact on reducing global warming,” she concluded.
